In 2019, Patterson became the oldest person to win a title in WWE history, after winning the WWE 24/7 Championship at age 78.
Patterson was inducted into the WWF Hall of Fame as part of the class of 1996.
He is recognized by the company as their first Intercontinental Champion and creator of the Royal Rumble match.
